My name is Bill Paradis, recently retired. I have studied Spanish for some years and can read pretty well (intermediate level). I still can't follow Spanish movies or hold more than an elementary conversation. That is what I want to practice and learn. I'd be pleased to assist someone in improving their English.
Interests: I enjoy keeping up with the world and learning about cultures and how others live, their beliefs and life style. I'm very interested in the changing politics around the world. I read quite a lot, mostly thrillers and about politics.
Many years ago, I had a Rock & Roll band where I played piano and saxophone and made a few records.
I am a PhD engineer by education and early on I designed computer control systems for petroleum refineries. I got interested in management and spent most of my career as a business executive and later had my own business coaching senior executive in large companies.
During that time, I was an aerobatic pilot for several years and did several bungie jumps.
During my career in executive management and coaching I studied piano off and on. Now that I'm retired, I have time to really learn various genres on the piano. My favorite is jazz improvisation but also work on blues, latin, funk, rock and pop.
I start most days at the gym and am interested in keeping fit and healthy.
By prior marriages, my wife and I together have five children and ten grandchildren who live nearby. We also have a Golden Retriever which gets a lot of our love and attention.
A sign next to our bed reads "Just Another Day in Paradise". We both think this is the best time of our life!
